Aluminium grabrails

Stainless steel grabrails

All of the handrails on offer from Shearwater Engineering are available in a range of classic designs, and can be produced in aluminium or stainless steel. The stainless steel handrails can be manufactured to any size in a round, square or rectangular shape- so they are ideal for any property, or building need. The range of aluminium hand rails on offer can be powdercoated in any powder coat colours of your choice. A great feature that will ensure that the handrails you choose fit in perfectly with your property. An additional features is that all of the Shearwater Engineering hand rails come with a warranty and comply with Australian Standards.

Wall Mounted Handrails

The handrails from Shearwater Engineering can be made in any shape that you prefer. The handrails will then be attached to your wall with a wall bracket to ensure that they are safe and comply with regulations. The size and off-set of the wall bracket for the handrail can be configured to your requirements. Wall-mounted handrails are commonly installed as stair handrails.

Floor mounted single handrails

Floor mounted single handrails are supported by posts and fixed to the floor either in a core-drilled hole or with base and cover plates. The height of the post is configured to your specifications. The elbows at the sides are optional, and can be removed should you desire. This floor-mounted handrail is commonly used for stairs that are no higher than 1000mm.

Balcony Handrails, Single and Double rail

The single handrail on offer from Shearwater Engineering is designed to be fixed to the top of a brick or concrete brick wall. The space between the lower edge of the handrail and wall is customised to your needs- to ensure a safe and snug fit, and seamless design. However, Shearwater Engineering recommends that there is a maximum space of 100mm to comply with the BCA and AS. Additionally, the height of your wall or block work should be at least 860mm so that an overall barrier height of 1 meter can be achieved as required by law in Australia.

The double hand railing system on offer is designed to be fixed to the top of a shorter brick or concrete wall. The spaces between the railings can be customised to your needs. However, Shearwater Engineering recommends a maximum space of 100mm to comply with the BCA and AS. The height of your wall or brickwork should be at least 740mm so that an overall barrier height of 1 meter can be achieved as required by the Australian Standards.
